our premise
We are professionals in our various fields and have all dealt with significant health issues in our time. It is, and was, in this journey, we individually noticed a propensity for the various spheres of healing to work independently of each other.
In addition, the professionals we were able to access worked primarily in the space of the body and the mind but rarely delved into the powerful health influencer of all, namely our internal narrative or personal story.
Irrespective of how well we are eating, moving or pausing, if our thoughts create anxiety and are repetitive, they create a cascade of hormones and neurotransmitters that can be extremely corrosive on our bodies.
Integral Wellness was birthed here in our understanding of the value of knitting together the elements of the journey to well-being.
Dr James Rediger, author of the book ‘Cured’, indicates that to restore or ensure well-being, we must attend to four specific pillars to create a fertile biological platform for healing.
He identified these as immunity, nutrition, personal identity and stress management.
We have called these pillars threads but choose to describe them in a way that gives us agency.
We describe these threads as follows:
Nourishing for optimal health
Reflecting for optimal health
Moving for
optimal health
Pausing for optimal health
Integral Wellness

the four threads:
01.
Reflecting
for optimal health
“What we think about directly impacts our nervous system and therefore our immunity.”
It’s not only some foods, toxins and medicine that negatively affect our biological platform; our thoughts and beliefs also feed directly into our nervous system.
“The pathogen is nothing; the terrain is everything.”
The Enneagram, as a tool, will enhance your journey in its identification of the misplaced anxieties that may be driving your behaviour patterns. Given that your immune system and your nervous system, so interwoven through their neuroreceptors, are constantly communicating, identifying what you think and feel and how it impacts your health becomes a crucial part of your well-being journey.
The facilitation of the thread of reflection is Integral Coach Helen During, who has worked with the Enneagram for 12 years.
Through quiet and private reflection, the areas of your personal story that have given you strength and those that may need further healing will surface.
“The Enneagram – the aspects it brought up were meaningful for me and very helpful. Working with my blind spots was challenging.”
“The enneagram challenged us to think about new ways of doing our life.”
“I learnt so much about myself and what moving out of my comfort zone means.”

Nourishing
for optimal health
“Poor food choices drive inflammation; inflammation drives chronic disease.”
Further to creating the biological platform of our healing is supporting your body with sound nutritional choices and habits. Our Integrative Nutrition Therapist and Dietician, Judith Johnson, is, through her sound knowledge and experience in the science of epigenetics and nutrition, well placed to share her knowledge of how your food choices can aggravate or support the creation of a sound biological platform.
The cuisine will well support Judith’s sharing on offer at Mont Fleur. Having liaised extensively with the kitchen team, Judith has assured a range of delicious dishes that will kick off the process of real cellular change.
“Our immunity and the role of food was an experience of its own.”
“The gut serotonin link is fascinating for me.”
“I have been inspired to be more creative in the variety of what I prepare for my family.”
“Understanding how to optimise the diet for the brain was so helpful.”
“It was delicious – I loved the food. It was so healthy and tasty.”
03.
Movement
for optimal health
“The body is always communicating. What is missing is our awareness.”
“New research shows that yoga is equally as effective as cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) in treating anxiety in adults”, quotes Candy Clark, a trauma-based yoga therapist and counsellor who is an advisor to Integral Wellness and responsible for introducing this healing yoga into our space.
Your stress levels, driven by these misplaced anxieties, inevitably lie in how you respond to and interact with your world. Repatterning this with a more mindful way of being is vital. Our mindfulness and yoga expert, uniquely placed to facilitate new insights into your habitual reactions, will gently guide you in developing new patterns more supportive of your well-being.
“It was so good to pause, to take stock.”
“This workshop has nourished body, mind and soul as it was so integrated. It has been fabulous.”
“The package has been a magical mix.”

04.
Pausing
for optimal health
Most of us live on autopilot and use motion to ease our anxieties. Research into human behaviour indicates that we all have anxiety-reducing behaviours that are triggered into action when we feel one of a range of emotions. This moves us into a motion or a thinking style that seeks to reduce or alleviate risk.
‘Shifting our patterns of behaviour requires a stillness of mind. In this stillness we can start to identify and befriend these patterns. Our Breathwork specialist will hold a very powerful 2 hour Connected Breath session to facilitate a release of the tensions and contractions you may be holding in your body.
This process will be supported by our Mindfulness and Yoga facilitator through her creation of quiet, contemplative spaces within which to process your insights. In this silence, connecting to the wisdom of your body and the messages it carries allows you to let go of the patterns of behaviour that no longer serve you.
“Meditation was the thread to bring it together.
I enjoyed the mindfulness, meditation, and spiritual side of it.”
Finally, we offer a mix of practical exercises to support the surfacing of these threads and quiet, contemplative spaces to process these new insights.
Gently supported by the presence of our mindfulness expert, who will guide you in developing new responses to your environment and nourished by the teachings and healthy food chosen by our Integrative dietician, you will leave our workshop with a well-defined personal plan of action to support your well-being.
